10 Perfect Party Appetizers
#1 Perfect Party Appetizer – Cheese and Fruit
Nothing beats Cracker Barrel Cheese Trays for the easiest party appetizer ever. Visit my post on Simple Recipe Ideas for an easy Holiday Party with Cheese and Fruit. You’ll find table setting tips and my simple recipe for Caramel, Apple and Walnut Cheese Crackers. It packs in a crunchy, sweet and cheesy flavor – perfect for satisfying both the sweet and savory taste buds of your party guests.
#2 Perfect Party Appetizer – Baked Tequila Lime Chicken Taquitos
These Homemade Skinny Baked Tequila Lime Chicken Taquitos are tangy, juicy, and cheesy-good. I love the lemon and lime flavors in this recipe. You can pick up the Tequila Lime seasoning at Whole Foods just in front of their fresh seafood display. It’s a dark orange color and adds a wonderful scent and flavor to almost any and every dish. Now, what makes them “skinny”? Well, the chicken is cooked in chicken broth in a crock pot and the entire roll is baked. My husband doesn’t need to eat skinny – but he loved these baked chicken taquitos. Serve these taquitos alongside a Mexican toppings bar, and tongs for easy pick up. You don’t have to fry your taquitos to get loads of flavor with this delicious party appetizer!
#3 Perfect Party Appetizer – Ritz Cracker Meatballs
One of my husband’s all-time favorites for party appetizers are my Ritz® Cracker Meatballs with sweet and sour sauce. They taste better than a hamburger and make for a hearty appetizer. The flavor is buttery and rich, with garlic tones, and includes the sweet and savory flavor of scallions baked right in. I dare say you could easily add this recipe to your standard spaghetti noodles and sauce and create a fabulous meal for your family. So to me, this is more than a party recipe, it’s the foundation of a hearty meal. Serve these with marinara for an Italian themed party appetizer.
#4 Perfect Party Appetizer – Chicken Fried Steak Fingers
If you have meat-lovers in your home, or if you expect them at your next party, you can “wow” your guests with these Chicken Fried Steak Fingers. This recipe includes hot sauce — which gives the steak fingers a mild but spicy kick. If you prefer a pure steak flavor, just make them without the hot sauce ingredient. They’re a true party pleaser and no one will accuse the host(ess) of trying to serve up a dinky appetizer. These Chicken Fried Steak Fingers are SOOOO easy to make. Just prep and marinade overnight, dip, coat, fry and you’re done. The only other thing that took any time at all was cutting up the veggies, but if you’re really pressed for time just pick up a veggie tray!
#5 Perfect Party Appetizer – Shredded Chicken Tamales
If you would love to eat Tamales for New Year’s Eve but find the art of tamale making a bit intimidating, you’ll love my easy recipe for Shredded Chicken Tamales. The total prep time is less than an hour with three hours of cook time for the chicken in a crock pot and a one hour cook time for steaming the Tamales. The juicy flavor of the shredded chicken is outstanding and these Shredded Chicken Tamales are moist and perfectly packed. I used an instant corn masa flour for the recipe which makes the steaming process simple and quick. The final result was a savory corn tamale that held together nicely and made for a scrumptious party appetizer.
#6 Perfect Party Appetizer – Panko and Coconut Crusted Cod Nuggets
Now, if I had to pick my favorite party appetizer based upon flavor, I would recommend my Panko and Coconut Crusted Cod Nuggets. Just think, the tropical scent and flavor of coconut flakes pan fried to a perfect sweetness to create a crisp container of juicy flavor around the white, flaky, but tender meat of cod fish… my mouth waters just thinking about it! I paired my Panko and Coconut Crusted Cod with two types of Slasa – one made with fresh tropical fruits, and the other made with Mexican salsa. No matter what type of flavors you’re craving, you’ll love this outstanding dish!
#7 Perfect Party Appetizer: P.F. Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps Copycat Recipe
I promise, if you take the time to make this P.F. Chang’s Chicken Lettuce Wraps recipe you will not regret it. In fact, if you’re like me, this stir-fry deliciousness will become a regular part of your family’s favorite meals for two BIG reasons. The chicken cooked in this sauce is packed with FLAVOR, and this dish is QUICK — if you have all the ingredients. Total cook time is under 30 minutes and it’s perfect for the evenings when you need to whip up dinner and you don’t have a minute to spare. One bite and you’ll know why this is a top seller at P.F. Chang’s. I used Farm Rich boneless Chicken Bites but you could also try boneless, skinless chicken breast lightly coated in flour for this recipe. You’ll love the combination of fresh, crisp lettuce and the slightly spicy combination of chicken, watercress, onion, mushroom, and garlic in a tangy stir-fry sauce.
#8 Perfect Party Appetizer – Chicken Nugget Boats
Sometimes putting a creative twist on a family favorite is all it takes to serve up an easy but hearty appetizer. I baked up some Chicken Nugget Boats and added broccoli shreds, carrot shreds, shredded cheese, pimentos and black olives. There are three types of “boat” containers including spinach wrap, a flour tortilla taco boat, and phyllo dough. This recipe is very easy to customize – bake up some Chicken Nugget Boats with shredded cheese melted right on top and offer guests and array of toppings – things like honey mustard, spicy mustard, salsa, guacamole, and sour cream. If you want to try the different boat containers – spinach wrap, flour tortilla, and phyllo dough – I recommend separating them into different baking trays so you can bake each at it’s recommended baking time. Have fun creating your own version of this easy party appetizer!
#9 Perfect Party Appetizer – Black Bean Salsa Sliders
These Black Bean Salsa Sliders are smaller than a traditional hamburger but they are big on flavor. The combination of black beans, garlic, onions and tomatoes sitting atop a hearty slice of sharp cheddar cheese, and ground turkey patties tucked inside a super-soft pint-sized bun makes for a fabulous party appetizer. I served our sliders with a side of Black Bean Salsa and some corn tortilla chips. Fresh avocado slices and green leaf lettuce add a dose of vitamin packed veggies for a well-balanced party snack!
#10 Perfect Party Appetizer – Crockpot BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches
This easy recipe for Crockpot BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches was originally written as a meal, but you could easily serve these up on mini buns or Hawaiian sweet rolls for a simple party appetizer. These pulled pork sandwiches are super easy to make, feed a crowd, and since you can leave them in the slow cooker on warm, it’s a convenient way for folks to get a second sandwich that tastes as fresh as the first. If you enjoy pulled pork, you’ll love this easy recipe that combines the flavors of garlic, BBQ sauce and Worcestershire to create a perfect sauce.
