Thanksgiving is one of our family’s favorite holidays. We absolutely love gathering with family, enjoying a delicious meal together and making memories with our children. This year I’m planning ahead… way ahead. My day starts early on Thanksgiving morning with food preparation. To help get everyone on the right track, and to keep the kids busy while I’m in the kitchen, I’ve created this awesome 20+ page printable pack with 20 activities for kids based upon the Thanksgiving Day holiday. I updated the printable pack for this year – so the artwork inside the pack varies slightly from the photographs you see here.
We’ll have our extended family over and since we don’t see them every day, this will give grandparents, cousins and aunts fun things to do and play with the little ones, all while building family memories. Plus, it frees me up to focus on making apple pie, green bean casserole, scalloped potatoes, cornbread stuffing, and, of course, turkey. In case you’re wondering, I get up early to make it all happen. 😉

An Early Morning on Thanksgiving Day
By nature, I start my day early on most days. In fact, I’m usually up around 4:30 AM to enjoy some quiet time and work on the blog here at HappyandBlessedHome.com. On Thanksgiving morning I’ll be sure to start my day off right – some Dunkin’ Donuts® Bakery Series® coffee, Caramel Coffee Cake is especially delicious, and dairy free creamer, Silk in my favorite flavor – Vanilla. To be quite honest, on Thanksgiving Day it’s extremely likely I’ll have two cups of coffee – just to be sure I don’t run out of steam in the kitchen.
My children get up around 7:00 AM. My goal is to keep them busy with visiting family and some fun activities. Keep reading for my homemade tutorial on keeping the kids active and learning on Thanksgiving Day.
I hope you and your family enjoy a tremendously, marvelous Thanksgiving this year!
Thanksgiving Turkey Board Game
I’ve created a fun “Candy-Land” style board game – The Thanksgiving Turkey Board Game. Just cut out the dice and game pieces, roll the dice and transport your turkey from the start to the finish. Maybe give the winner an extra piece of pie? I guess it depends on who is the winner and if you’re fast approaching bedtime. 😉
This game is easy to assemble and follow. And it promises to make for family memories everyone will cherish.
Thanksgiving Day Puzzles
There are four fun puzzles in the 30 Page Thanksgiving Activities for Kids Printable Pack. Each offers a different level of complexity. You can print and laminate the puzzle pieces, or opt to simply print on card stock for a short-life use. My kids love the cornucopia. It’s colorful and they tell me the images remind them of fall.
Thanksgiving Day Coloring Pages
There are a handful of coloring pages in the 20 Page Thanksgiving Activities for Kids Printable Pack including a Thanksgiving Day turkey, a pilgrim girl and boy, and Indian girl and boy, the Mayflower, and a Thanksgiving Day feast. Plus, I’ve included images to create your very own pilgrim hats at home. Just cut out a strip of construction paper two to three inches wide and assemble it to wrap around your child’s head. Then attach the hat with tape or glue for a fun Thanksgiving Day hat.
A Wonderful Beginning and a Way to Unwind
Chances are, with all the delicious food, fun activities, and family-fun memory making going on, we’ll be up late chatting with our family. When you get up early on Thanksgiving Day you may want to indulge in Dunkin’ Donuts® Bakery Series® coffee again as your day wraps up. Our family enjoys coffee with my Homemade Sweet Rolls from Scratch, my Caramel Banana Muffins, or my Cuban Guava Pastries.

Where to find Dunkin’ Donuts® Coffee and WhiteWave® Creamers
I found everything featured here at Kroger-King Soopers. Look on the coffee aisle for Dunkin’ Donuts® Coffee, and the dairy case for WhiteWave® Creamers. Check out how my blogging friends are enjoying their coffee and creamers at the social hub here: Coffee Anyone?
