This post was created in collaboration with the Mom It Forward Influencer Network and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. Here I am sharing a family fun activity for creating kid-friendly snowmen and none of them require snow. It includes a quick recipe with marshmallows and a FREE 5 Build a Snowman Activities Printable Pack for Kids. It’s fun for the whole family!
Wintertime in the Rockies means cold weather and snow. It also means warm crackling fires, snuggly warm sweaters, and hot steaming cocoa after a day outside.
I would never have dreamed how much hot cocoa would mean in my family until I had boys of my own who love to play in the snow. Rolling up snowmen, having snowball fights, sledding, and building snow forts with snow mortar is all the norm around here.
When the boys head inside though, the first thing they ask for is warm hot cocoa. They’ve come to love the warming power of this drink so much, that they even ask for it on days when there is no snow, but it’s cold outside.
This past week we experienced one of the coldest days yet this year, 19 degrees. And sure enough, the boys asked for hot cocoa. I decided to make it into a day of fun and we built marshmallow snowmen.
Now the cool thing about these marshmallow men is that we gave them a spa day. A spa day in one of my favorite hot cocoa flavors, Candycane Cocoa. Perfect for hot cocoa drinkers like me who love peppermint and chocolate.
