As the mom of two young kiddos, there are days when I am overwhelmed with laundry. With a little guy that seems to get food on every garment and an older child who forgets to take off his school clothes before going outside to play, keeping the laundry pile under control is indeed a challenge. Thankfully, we made a stop at Sam’s Club this week to pick up some Member’s Mark® Ultimate Clean Paradise Splash® Detergent. With the way we go through the laundry, smaller sized laundry detergents just don’t cut it.
Tack onto that, my mom is from Puerto Rico and takes great pride in personal appearance. She reminds me to make sure the boy’s clothes are washed, cared for, wrinkle-free and presentable.
FREE Printable Laundry Rotation Schedule
So here’s a FREE Printable Laundry schedule for anyone else who struggles with keeping it all clean. In fact, just this week I read an article where one mom washes bedsheets every week to keep away the flu. And she makes her kids take off their clothes as soon as they get home and washes everything after just one use.
I haven’t gone to that extreme yet, But I can see why there may be a benefit.
Either way, this two-week rotation should make it all “doable”. I’ve included a blank monthly page so you can custom design your own laundry rotation. I think the key is to have some sort of schedule so you can remember what has been washed and what hasn’t.

How to Implement an Easy-to-Follow Laundry Routine
The boys are finally old enough to start helping out with laundry. And I think it’s important that they understand what it is to have chores. My hope is that someday their spouse will thank me for taking the time to care for their own clothes. Plus, it makes them more presentable and it gives them a sense of ownership when it comes to their own personal appearance.
Step 1: Have a Routine. Kids thrive on routine, so making laundry a regular part of your week teaches them to expect it and a sense of responsibility. You can use the schedule in the attached download OR use the blank calendar to create your own.
Step 2: Give Kids some Ownership. For instance, help them understand the importance of caring for their things. Simple steps like getting them to put dirty clothes in the laundry basket is a great start.
Step 3: Sort Clothes. It may seem obvious, but kids don’t know until we teach them. Show them how to sort clothes, treat clothes for stains, and wash clothes in the correct setting and temp.
Step 4: Use Soap. Just like our bodies need soap to come clean, so does our laundry. Member’s Mark® Ultimate Clean Paradise Splash® Detergent has a fresh, clean scent, and does a great job of getting our clothes clean. I picked up our laundry detergent at Sam’s Club which means Member’s Mark laundry detergent offers superior cleaning performance at an exceptionally great value. Plus, these laundry detergents have even more stain fighting and whitening/brightening power than before.
Step 5: Dry clothes on the correct settings. You can show kids the difference in fabrics and teach them how certain items need to be hung to dry.
Step 6: Hang and Fold. Get clothes out of the dryer while they are still warm and hang or fold.
Bonus Step – Consign Clothes Kids have Outgrown. Every six months, I go through my boys’ closets and I purge the clothes they have outgrown. Then I wash, hang and tag everything to sell on consignment. I purge the closets and make sure kids’ clothes are not cluttered and ready to wear – my mom would be proud!
Wahoo! See, with an easy-to-follow laundry routine, laundry can be less daunting, and everyone has clean clothes that look and smell great and are ready to wear!
