We have an adorable little boy in our life who is turning six very soon. We like to call him “T”. T loves all things boy – planes, trains, superheros, and all sorts of sports. T currently shares a bedroom with his older brother. I was talking with T’s mom and she explained that her eldest son would like to get his own room. Well, since T’s birthday is right around the corner, I knew that T could use something to help make the transition of moving into his own bedroom a little easier.
Hallmark has some wonderful fold-out poster cards for kids. The great thing about these cards is they make not only great cards, they make great gifts too. And sometimes making kids a part of the process of change, makes the change a little easier. Of course, since it’s a bedroom makeover, I had to get a Batman blanket and collectible figure to complete the “look”.
Being able to pick his favorite superhero and make Batman a part of decorating his new bedroom made T very happy. We found the Batman blanket in Walmart’s bedding section, and the Batman figure in the toys section.
Just a note of WARNING – if you head into the bedding section you might accidentally come home with an extra superhero – my two year old fell in love with this Incredible Hulk pillow doll and I just didn’t have the heart to say “no.” It’s so cute – the pillow doll is almost as big as he is. One day – when he’s older – I can show him the doll and tell him that’s about how big he was at age 2. So fun!
A Batman Bedroom Makeover with #KidsCards
As you can see below, our Hallmark Kids Poster Card, Batman figure, and blanket did the trick – now T has a superhero bedroom to call his own. His mom was thrilled with the gift and thankful that it may help T transition to his own room. Even big brother was happy – he can see that getting his own room is on the horizon.
If you’re looking for a card that also becomes a part of the gift, or to create your own Batman bedroom makeover, you’ll love these Hallmark Kid Poster Cards. You can find the Kid Poster Cards at Walmart in the cards section. And, at Hallmark Connections Kids Cards online you can find even more great ideas for decorating with and gifting these Hallmark Poster Cards.
Hallmark also has a Hallmark Card Rewards Program which rewards shoppers for purchasing Hallmark cards and can be collected anywhere (but especially at Walmart). For every 5 cards you buy, you’ll earn a reward.

T’s Mom and I brainstormed a bit and thought we’d share a few tips for parents who may be considering a bedroom makeover for their kids. Whether it’s combining kids to get them to share a room, or separating kids into separate bedrooms, we thought we’d share a few ideas for helping kids with the transition.
Easing Kids through Change
T’s mom and I realize it’s not always possible to plan for change or even prepare for it. But when you can help ease kids through change, we hope you’ll find these tips helpful.
- Talk about change as a good thing.
- Plan ahead to give the child time to adjust to the idea of change.
- Find a way to incorporate the things your child loves into the change to help ease the transition.
- Plan fun activities around change.
- Have a celebration to commemorate the change – it can be as simple as a trip to the ice cream shop to celebrate.
- Let your child know how proud you are of them for adapting to the change.
- Let your child know you have an open door to talk with them about change – anytime they need to talk.
Thanks to Hallmark and some superhero inspired birthday gifts, T’s transition to a bedroom all his own is going to be a “piece of cake.” We hope these ideas have inspired your next bedroom makeover or gift-giving occasion.
