I have a special surprise for my readers today. Even though I have two little boys, I still have little princesses in my life – with three nieces who are very much all girl! In fact, my sister’s little girl just turned one, and when I came across these beautiful images of princess clip art, I had to create a Princess Birthday Party just for her.
As my beloved readers and fans – you get all 30 pages of the Princess Birthday Party Printable Set FREE. This is my niece – isn’t she so adorable! We got her Sleeping Beauty costume from Birthday Express – this post includes affiliate links for your convenience.

Start With The Cake
I found the perfect “kit” to help with my cake. With two towers, three princesses (Ariel, Tangled, and Cinderella) and one castle, it was the perfect fit for the vision I had for my cake. I also found some garden party princesses and added them to the cake display because you just have to have Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Sleeping Beauty! I make my own cakes from scratch. I’ve posted about one of the recipes here: Cars Cakes for a 1 Year Old in case you’re interested in learning a bit more about the batter I use.
My best advice on cakes is to plan a few days in advance. I always coat my cakes on the day they are baked with a “starter” layer of frosting to seal the cake from drying out. I cover my iced cakes in saran wrap overnight. You can even refrigerate or freeze cakes to help with layering decorations. And don’t be afraid to use non-icing for decor. The “drawbridge” door is painted with peanut-butter.
Why reinvent the wheel when I already have the perfect brown color in my kitchen? That’s the fun of decorating cakes myself – I always learn something new and I get to be creative. 🙂 And once I outlined the drawbridge in chocolate icing – well, then you have chocolate and peanut butter together – um – YUM!
Prepare Your Invitation
To keep with the Princess Birthday Party theme, I created these invitations using some of the princess-themed artwork I found. I’ve incorporated the four princesses – Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle (from Beauty and the Beast).
Print and Create the Princess Birthday Party Decorations
All you need to create this princess party is white card stock paper, a color printer, spray mount adhesive (elmer’s glue will work but may cause wrinkles), white thread for the mobile, a hole punch, a laminator and laminator paper (optional), glitter glue (optional), tape, and scissors. I highly recommend the spray mount adhesive – it makes for a nice smooth paper after drying. I’ve included links to my recommendations here and in the printable pack.
The nice thing about printables is that you can print out as many centerpieces, crowns, hanging mobiles, princess wand toppers, napkin and cup decorations, and princesses as you like. You can also be as creative as you like. That’s the fun part when you create your own princess birthday party!

Almost everything you see here was printed and then laminated. The only things I did not laminate were the invitations, thank you cards, and name tags. If something had a mirror image, I waited until I assembled things front to back, then I laminated them.
Princess Hanging Mobile
For the hanging mobile, I carefully folded each princess first. I then used the spray mount adhesive to glue the two sides together with the mirror images matching as closely as possible. Once the glue set, I trimmed each princess free-hand.
For the wand I used the same technique for the wand-topping star, but as I folded the star I inserted a Laffy Taffy candy stick to act as the base for the wand (33 cents each at a local gas station nearby). Once dried, I added glitter glue in silver to the star to give it a little extra sparkle. I also tied some sparkly feather string around my wands to make them magical.
Here is a closer shot of the hanging mobile fully assembled. The pack includes a castle with pink towers and mirror images that can be cut and pasted back to back. I free-hand trimmed around the towers to give the castle some dimension.
I used the hole punch to make four holes equal distance apart to hang the four princesses. I used white thread to attach the princesses and hang the castle. I staggered the princesses – hanging Snow White and Sleeping Beauty about two inches lower than Belle and Cinderella. You can use the castle for the top of the mobile or you can use the printable crown that is included in the package.
Princess Centerpiece
The centerpiece features all four pincesses standing up. Since the images on the back of each page are of a different princess, I could only curve trim the top slightly. I created a base from 2 & 1/2 of the decorating bands. The decorating bands can be used as a base or you can use them to decorate cups or vases.
In my photo at the top of this post you’ll see the decorating band used to decorate a glass vase which holds the candy wands. I created four bands – one for each princess and the clip art coincides with the princess. A glass slipper for Cinderella, an apple for Snow White, a beast for Belle, and a knight for Sleeping Beauty. I have loads of glass vases around – you can fill the vases with candy, cotton candy, or pink tissue paper and use the bands to anchor the design. If your princess asks about the beast, glass slipper, apple, or knight, you can tell them the story of the princess.
Wikipedia has the basic story for each of these princess online – click the following links to read the stories.
- The story of Sleeping Beauty (pink princess)
- The story of Cinderella (blue princess)
- The story of Snow White (multicolored gown)
- The story of Beauty and the Beast (Belle) (yellow princess)
Princess Birthday Party Crown
In the photo above, you’ll see the gold princess crown. I used a gold vine pattern for the band – you can cut and tape the length to any size you need. I taped a pink lotus flower to the front and a number for the birthday age being celebrated on top.
The printable pack includes numbers for ages one through 18 so you can celebrate for almost any age princess. I used clip art from various artists and the graphics were all available via public domain and free license. I’ve included attribution to the various artists in the printable package – the artists retain copyright for the images.
