I’m taking a little break from our preschool alphabet games this week to focus on Easter Fun. I purchased an Easter book that I’ve been reading to the boys that I just love. It tells the Easter story through rhyme and it leaves out the details that would be inappropriate for a preschooler. It focuses on God’s love for us and it’s perfect for teaching your little ones about the true meaning of Easter – God’s redemption through the resurrection of His son.
The book is called “The Easter Story” and it’s by Suzanne Berry {you can see a pic of it on my boy’s play table at the bottom of this post}. I found it at Walmart in the Easter cards section for less than $5.
I wanted to celebrate Easter with a colorful printable set that focuses not just on bunnies and eggs. I found and downloaded an Easter printable pack from 1+1+1=1 that includes scripture and activities appropriate for preschoolers.
In addition to coloring with my boys, I thought it would be nice to highlight a few of my favorite Easter activities that I think you’ll enjoy from other bloggers around the web. AND if you missed my previous post, Melissa and Doug is giving away $200 worth of toys. Read the post (click link at left) to find out how you can register to win.
Homeschool Creations posted a Resurrection Garden Tutorial using Wheat Grass – I think this would really make Easter memorable for the boys.
Cake and Bag Topper Easter Printables by CEO of Me – I like that you can easily decorate anything using these printables.
An Alternate Egg Hunt by Diana Rambles – Smashing confetti-filled eggs on family/friends just sounds like so much fun.
Crafty Moms Share posted Beaded Crosses using pipe cleaners – The larger beads and use of pipe cleaners makes this craft more appropriate for little ones.
Sheryl at Wilderness Wife shared 10 Great Easter Egg Decorating Ideas you can do with your kids – This post includes great ideas for ways to decorate your eggs – from the simple to the ornate – just a complete list.
If you want even more ideas, the Better Mom blog posted over 50 ideas for celebrating Easter. Phew… there are lots of ideas for celebrating Easter this year.
Here at Happy and Blessed Home, we’ve started celebrating by talking about the meaning of Easter and coloring some printables. I’ve got Easter eggs to decorate and lots of goodies for an Easter egg hunt we’ll do on the weekend of Easter. Here are a few pics from my boys enjoying some of our activities around Easter this week. I hope you are enjoying the holidays this month and are blessed this Easter.
