This year for Easter I wanted to create something really special for my two and four year old boys. So I wrote a FREE Children’s Easter Book called “The True Meaning of Easter.” The book is FREE for my subscribers so to get the book, all you have to do is sign up for my blog. The story is based upon the greatest story of hope ever told and focuses on God’s love for us. More details on how to sign up and information about the book are the the bottom of this post.
I also wanted to skip the Easter basket with candy and bunnies this year and instead focus on the true meaning of Easter so I created a 60+ page printable pack. With this printable pack I was able to insert characters from the book “The True Meaning of Easter” into the Easter grass. I created strips of the characters from the story to decorate the Easter basket handles with and I created small ovals with the characters from the story to insert into plastic Easter eggs.

My hope is that this printable kit will help families who want to put some meaning behind the traditions of our modern age. I wanted to find a way to enjoy Easter egg hunts and Easter baskets but keep the focus of these activities on The True Meaning of Easter by emphasizing the characters and story from the life of Jesus and God’s love for us.
By repeating the use of the characters from the story, I can help my two little ones focus on the true meaning of Easter. If you’d like to do the same thing, you’ll love the Easter Activity Book and Printables I’ve created.

Below you can get a closer view of the Easter egg stuffers, two of the three Easter cards, the characters from the story, as well as a closer view of the book and Easter Activity Book and Printables.
The Easter egg stuffers can be used as repetition for the story. Host an Easter-egg hunt and as your child opens the Easter eggs ask them about the characters they find and how each fits into the story. What lesson from the story does each character or scene represent? How does the character or scene represent God’s love for us?
Each coloring page is based upon the story itself. This helps with repetition and provides an outlet for creativity. These printables can easily be adapted for printing on colored construction paper or card stock. Extend beyond the typical crayons. Use glue and colored sand to make three-dimensional art. Glitter-glue, fuzzy pom-poms, google eyes and more can make these pages come to life. Enjoy and encourage creativity for your little one(s) and make the process truly memorable. You may even want to hole punch the activity book and make it a supplemental story to go with “The True Meaning of Easter.” Whatever you do, have fun and enjoy creative time with your little one(s).
