Their new HERDEZ® Instant Refried Beans are not only delicious, they take a lot of work out of making refried beans that are packed with flavor. Here I’ll walk you through our recipe for Chorizo Refried Bean Tacos – a savory and smoky dish perfect for a family meal!
An Easy Mexican Recipe for Family Mealtimes
Chorizo Refried Bean Tacos are so easy to make, and the taste is rich with the Mexican flavors. HERDEZ® Instant Refried Beans in Chorizo are packed with savory spices like paprika and garlic which give these beans an authentic, warm, and smoky flavor.
Easy Mexican Chorizo Refried Bean Tacos
- 1 Bag of HERDEZ® Instant Refried Beans in Chorizo flavor.
- 1 Lb. of Lean Ground Beef – cooked in taco seasonings and ready to add to tacos
- 2-4 Tablespoons of butter (2 Tablespoons per pan of meat)
- 1 Cup Red Grape Tomatoes cut into 1/4 – 1/2 inch squares
- 2 Cups fresh Green leaf lettuce – chopped
- 6-8 Corn Tortilla Shells (uncooked)
- 2 Cups shredded cheese – any flavor
- 1 Medium to Large Purple Onion – diced
- Salsa (optional)
- 1 Cup Sour Cream (optional)
- 2 Cups cooked Spanish style rice (as a side dish)
Easy Mexican Chorizo Refried Bean Tacos Directions
Step 1: Wash and prepare all the produce. Shred the lettuce and cut the tomatoes into halves or fourths. Set aside in separate bowls or containers.
Step 2: Cook the beans. Heat 1 1/2 Cups of water to a boil and pour in the HERDEZ® Instant Refried Beans. Stir every 30-60 seconds for 5 minutes. Beans cook up in five minutes and are ready to add to the Tacos.
Step 3: Heat the taco shells. PI used uncooked cord tortillas for this recipe. To heat them and soften them for folding into a taco shape, I ran each shell under the faucet to get it wet and then cooked it in a frying pan on medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side. Then I added two tablespoons of HERDEZ® Instant Refried Beans down the middle. I sprinkled on some shredded cheese and allowing the cheese to melt. Using a spatula and a slotted spatula, I folded the cooked taco and placed it on plate.
Step 4: Prepare the Ingredients for Assembly. Cheese, ground beef, tomatoes, onions and salsa were all set out on the table to make it easy for everyone to add toppings to their Chorizo Refried Bean Tacos! Everyone loved the rich smoky flavors of the Chorizo HERDEZ® Instant Refried Beans!
