Guess what, with this easy recipe for Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon you get the sweet taste of honey and the savory flavors of soy and garlic. The aroma is amazing and the entire family will be excited over the Sockeye salmon baking in the oven.
Now the cool thing about Sockeye salmon is that it has 4.7 grams of fat per serving, but the majority of its fat content is made up of monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are healthier than the saturated fat found in many meat products. Plus, the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA, two particularly beneficial forms of fat found in sockeye salmon, are really good for your bones and your heart. Easy recipe for Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon
Being from Florida means that seafood and the quality of the seafood I serve my family are important. Fresh seafood tastes best and when it comes to fish, the fresher the better. I love fresh wild Alaska salmon because of the cooked fish flakes with a fork with every bite. This Easy recipe for Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon is super simple to make, yet packs in a TON of flavor. I’ve even created a short video to show you how easy it is to make this recipe.
Simple Ingredients and Outstanding Flavor
Using a combination of honey and soy offers a balanced approach to flavors for this seafood dish. The addition of garlic gives it an aromatic savoriness. I love to serve our Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon with loads of fresh veggies like steamed snap peas, red potatoes, tomatoes, and lettuce.
Wild Alaska Salmon
I visited the fresh seafood case at our local grocer to purchase the salmon I used for this recipe. My advice, #AskForAlaska when you go grocery shopping. All Alaska salmon is wild. Wild-caught Alaska salmon includes five species that can be found at the seafood counter or freezer case including king salmon, sockeye, coho, keta, and pink. Ingredients for this Easy Recipe for Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon
- 1 Large Fillet of wild Alaska sockeye salmon (the one used here was 1.25 lbs.)
- 3/4 Cup of Honey
- 3/4 Cup Soy Sauce
- 2 Tablespoons of minced garlic

Directions for this Easy Recipe for Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon
Step 1: Wash and pat dry the wild Alaska Salmon. Set aside. Line a baking dish large enough to hold the salmon filet with parchment paper and press the paper into the dish to achieve a good fit. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2: Using a basting brush, brush on the minced garlic.
Step 3: Pour the honey over the fish making sure to coat as evently as possible.
Step 4: Pour the soy over the fish. Coat as evenly as possible. Cover the entire baking dish with aluminum foil and seal to close.
Step 5: Bake. Once the oven reaches the desired temperature, add the wild Alaska salmon in the baking dish to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Bake 6-8 minutes for each 1/2 of thickness. Check to ensure the wild Alaska salmon flakes with a fork to check for doneness.
For color and texture serve the Honey and Soy wild Alaska Salmon atop a bed of fresh green leaf lettuce with grape tomatoes, and top with a garnish of fresh lime slices.
