I have a special guest post for my readers today in my series on encouraging words for moms; my friend Linda from “Housekeeping.org” has agreed to do a guest post on my blog about being “immersed” in God’s word. We just wrapped up the letter “I” and I asked Linda to write something inspiring and she authored this encouraging post.
It is my sincerest hope that this post would be an encouragement to my fellow moms with little ones. I think Linda has some beautiful advice on where we can find our strength and encouragement – and it has to do with immersing ourselves in God’s love for us.
I pray rest and refreshment for you this week!
In His Grip,
The words below are written by my blogging friend Linda…
Immerse Yourself in His Love for You
There are some days when you get up running and wonder how in the world you will be able to get everything accomplished. For those of you who have children at home sometimes it seems impossible. Even if you do not have children those kinds of days can really drain every bit of strength you have.
I found out a long time ago that if I start the day out with Jesus and His word and offer up my day to Him the tasks seem so much lighter and go so much smoother. His plan is the best; He knows what we need to get accomplished and who we need to minister to along the way. He loves us, our children, and He sees who needs our encouragement as we go through the day.
When we spend time in the word of God and focus in on His will for our lives and let Him take the lead in our days, we will get accomplished what needs to be accomplished. He wants to be first on your list of things to do and first in your life. It is not a selfish request because He knows that with Him everything is easier and He wants you to be at peace. He said in His word to, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (NIV)
Start your days with Jesus, immerse yourself in the word of God each morning and trust in Him in all the circumstances of your day and of your life. He will not fail you, He will not leave you, and He will never abandon you. “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (NAS)
