It’s difficult to believe that Independence Day is fast approaching. For many of us, it feels like the school year just ended and summer fun has just started! This week we are helping with some 4th of July and summertime fun ideas. We have cook out recipes, like deviled egg salad, grilled potato fries, and patriotic berry kebabs! We also found some fun July 4th crafts and activities for you to enjoy leading up to next weekend’s celebrations, like firecracker pop ups, a patriotic garland, and parade bike decorations. Summer festivities don’t mean that the learning has to stop though. We found some hands on learning activities to enjoy during these longer summer days. Enjoy trampoline learning games, bring the schooling to the beach, have outdoor math fun, or build a lego spin art machine! Make things so fun the kids don’t realize that they are learning!
This week I picked a few dishes for you to bring to your 4th of July celebration! All of these choices are a little bit out of the ordinary but what other time to enjoy something a little different then when you are spending it with family and friends.
Egg Salad and deviled eggs are picnic staples but this deviled egg salad from the Gracious Wife combines both favorites into one pretty dish!
I have never even considered making grilled potato fries! This looks tasty and who can go wrong with garlic butter? Check out the recipe from Faith Filled Food for Moms.
These Buffalo Feathers from Spoons of Grace make a nice departure from normal barbecue chicken.
If you are looking for something a little healthier but with a kick, you can’t go wrong with theses barbecue spiced sweet potato fries from Athletic Avocado.
Christianity Cove’s Patriotic Fruit Kabobs will bring a smile to even the pickiest barbecue guests.
And okay, I know that these Rolo Cookies from I Dig Pinterest are not normal picnic or barbecue dishes but they are rolo peanut butter cookies. Yum!
