We’ve had so much fun studying the alphabet. We’re still doing our preschool alphabet games and this week I’m featuring the letter “M”. For this letter I created a fun Monkey Dice Game that you can download free by clicking the link.
I played this with my 32 month-old by having him roll the dice and pick weather he wanted to do the “L” for Lion or the “M” for Monkey activity based upon the number he rolled with the dice. You can find “L” under Free Stuff. To watch a video of Peanut in action you can either click here: Playing with Dice or watch it below.
Of course, not to be outdone by his older brother, Nugget wanted me to share this video with you, Crawling Up Mommy. He is perfecting his crawling and climbing skills and we couldn’t be happier with his progress.
Alphabet vocabulary review sometimes goes swimmingly and other times, Peanut is not as enchanted. This video captures one of the times where he would rather run off with his stuffed “friends”. Link: Letter M Vocabulary Review
The set up for the letter M included stuffed monkeys, Mickey Mouse, a map of the US, “Five Little Monkeys”, “Away in a Manger”, blocks with the words, “Milk” and “Monkey”, and a magnet board with flashcards including a mushroom, mouse, monkey, maze, mop, moon and milk.
Here Peanut is making the Mmmmmm with his lips.
Even though vocabulary review did not go so well on the first try, all is not lost, we’ve been using these fabulous free printables from 1+1+1=1 and as you can see here, Peanut’s painting has greatly improved (click the link to go to 1+1+1=1) You’ll notice he tried to stay within the lines. It makes me smile from ear to ear to see this progress in letter recognition. When we started he could not do this so I’m super excited about what this means for future plans to get him reading. For a copy of the leaves printable click here: Leaves. Any illustrations (not from 1+1+1=1) you see here I draw myself. I’m actually getting to use years of art classes. 🙂
It’s not all work and no play here at Happy and Blessed Home. The boys are interacting more and more each day. Here Peanut is playing with his toy laptop and Nugget wants to join in on the fun.
Feel free to download any of the free printables for your preschooler over at Free Stuff.
Thank you for joining us on our journey through the alphabet.
In His Grip,
Monica
