One of our family’s favorite activities is reading stories together. I have two young boys ages three and one, and sometimes it’s challenging to get them to both sit still. One of the ways I’ve been able to capture their attention is through book boxes. A book box can be a shoe box or any other box that you can use to create a hands-on story.
I enjoy illustrating animals and creating activities that make learning memorable and fun for my preschooler so creating a book box is not only fun but relatively easy to do. If you would like to create an animated story time for your little ones, I’ve created FREE printables you can use to create this “Five Wishing Stars” book box at home. I’m guest posting this project over at Cheerios and Lattes on Saturday, June 8. You can read the full post here: Five Wishing Stars at Cheerios and Lattes. On Mackenzie’s blog, Cheerios and Lattes, you’ll find all sorts of great stuff – cleaning tips, giveaways, recipes, crafts and more.
The “Five Wishing Stars” story is about five sheep who wish for various objects on their wishing stars. The last sheep wishes a good night’s sleep for all the other sheep. It’s a perfect bedtime book and is a favorite in our home. The printables and tutorial are FREE. I hope they are a blessing to you and your family.
