My love for books and writing started when I was a little girl. My grandfather owned a bookstore and he would bring me books or I could get books when we went to visit him in Miami. I read almost all the Nancy Drew mysteries by the time I was ten, and I didn’t stop there. I loved the library and still do. In fact I have about a dozen children’s books checked out now to fuel the passion for books in my own children. Especially now that I’m a mother I can see why reading and writing are so important – they are wonderful tools for teaching and for sharing ideas. My journey as a new mom has opened up so many new avenues of learning for me, that I thought it would be a good idea to start blogging.
Blogging (writing) comes easily to me as I’ve been keeping a diary for many years. In fact, if you came over for a visit I could show you stacks of journals with stories and prayers from over the past ten years. I blog because I write already. The major benefit now is that anyone can read my “handwriting” on this blog. And I can share pictures, tools for helping young children learn, and keep up with friends and family. Plus I have so many rich and wonderful things going on in my life and I just feel like my cup is spilling over and I have to share. I must admit though that if you could read my journals from ten + years ago you would find some sad and dark stories, especially as God walked me though some pruning in my relationships and lifestyle. You see, I wasn’t always a Christian and I wasn’t always seeking His will for me. Trust me, His will is always better.
I pray Happy and Blessed Home is a blessing for my readers.
In His Grip,
Monica
Psalm 23:5-6, King James Version (KJV)
5 Thou preparest a table before me… thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of theLord for ever.
